There will be several exhibits from the period and an explanation on how the war changed the village forever. There are biographies of those people who made the ultimate sacrifice and are mentioned on the war memorial. Out of a total population of 737 parishioners in 1911 (details from the census returns), 80 able bodied men enlisted to fight the cause to stop the perceived tyranny and oppression. Just under a quarter of these men were killed or died from wounds and sickness caused by the war. The exhibition has been put together with the assistance of Weston Turville Historical Society (www.wthsoc.org.uk) , Weston Turville U3A (www.wtu3a.org.uk) , Buckinghamshire Remembers (www.buckinghamshireremembers.org.uk) and St Mary’s Church.
