Weston Turville Historical Society (WTHSoc) treats your privacy rights seriously. This privacy policy sets out how we will deal with your ‘personal information’, that is, information that could identify, or is related to the identity of, an individual.

When you express an interest in becoming a member of WTHSoc you will be asked to provide the following information.

  • your name

  • email address

  • your subscription type (e.g. Single/Family/Honorary)

  • your subscription status (paid/not paid)

  • Additionally, phone contact information will be requested should you be interested in joining an excursion.

Occasional attendees and those interested in following our programme information.

How do we collect this personal information?

All the information collected is obtained directly from you. This is usually at the point of your initial contact. The information will be collected via membership forms, online contact forms or by your contacting us via email.

There is no provision on our website for setting up accounts, no purchasing capability, nothing requires a password.

How do we use your personal information?

We use your personal information:

§ To provide information pertaining to local historical information and WTHSoc events and activities.

§ For administration of our Society and our obligations such as the annual AGM

We’ll send you messages by email, though our programme is also available from our website www.WTHSoc.org.uk, Bucks Herald, Mix 96, Our Parish Magazine (Horizons) and Wendover News.

Who do we share your personal information with?

We do not and will not under any circumstances share your data with any other company or organisation.

How long do we keep your personal information?

We will hold your data until you inform us that you no longer wish us to contact you

How your information can be updated or corrected

To ensure the information we hold is accurate and up to date, member’s need to inform the Society as to any changes to their personal information. You can do this by contacting the Society secretary secretary@WTHSoc.org.uk or at the monthly Meeting.

How do we store your personal information?

Your membership information is held on a spreadsheet stored on Google Drive and accessed by Society Committee members.

Availability and changes to this policy

This policy is available on our website. This policy may change from time to time. If we make any material changes we will make members aware of this via the Newsletter and the monthly members’ meetings.
