The King of the Vagabonds

THE LIFE &  (AUTO)BIOGRAPHIES OF JOHN MOBLEY OF THE PARISH OF WESTON TURVILLE IN THE COUNTY OF BUCKS. 

The remarkable story of a notorious, brazen imposter with numerous aliases and a frequent guest of goals and workhouses across the country. This publication consists of a fact based biography together with his obituary and three of his autobiographies (all quite different), one of which was serialised in The Bucks Advertiser for 33 weeks between June 1878 and February 1879.

An Historical and Ecological Study. Following the death of Tessa in 2020, it was decided to honour her memory by printing a third edition, adding colour and reflecting some of the changes that have occurred in the 16 years since the 2nd Edition while keeping some of the hand drawn, kitchen table character of the original. The profits are being shared by BBOWT and Weston Turville Historical Society as Tessa had instructed. Copies available at £10.00 + p&p.

School Memories

a book of memories of school life collected from past pupils of the Old School in School Lane. Copies available at £7.50 + p&p.

The Manor House Weston Turville a history of this important building over the last 1000 years, by Margaret Cox. Sadly, Margaret passed away in 2019, but her book has been made available to download (click on cover) by her sister Rosemary, with a request that readers make a donation towards the Toybox Charity in support of street children in Latin America
